Denton, TX – The Denton Police Department says the driver of the vehicle suspected in multiple attempted kidnapping cases in the county over the weekend was arrested on an unrelated charged of driving while intoxicated on Sunday.
Authorities were searching for a man they believe has been involved in multiple attempted kidnappings over the past week, including a new incident that happened Sunday afternoon.
This latest incident happened on Lake Sharon between FM 2499 and Oakmont.
The man tried to get a woman into his car, though he did not display a firearm in this instance, according to police. He was wearing a hoodie, sunglasses and a medical mask.
The department says the driver, whose name has not been released, is currently being held in the City of Denton jail, as Denton police and Corinth police continue to investigate the open kidnapping cases.
