Bedford, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The Bedford Police Department early this morning arrested a suspect in connection with detonating an explosive device near a drainage culvert under Forest Ridge Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the FBI conducted the initial investigation. Agents found a suspicious item near the initial location which was destroyed last night by the Northeast Fire Department Association Explosive Response Team.
Late last night a local and federal authorities identified a person of interest. More details are forthcoming.
In the meantime, Forest Ridge Drive, between l. Don Dodson and Bedford Road will remain closed for further inspection.
Bedford Police was selective about the information it released to the public as to not alert the suspect.
