MIDLOTHIAN (WBAP/KLIF News) – This week marks the five-year anniversary of the brutal murder of Terri “Missy” Bevers and Midlothian Police said their investigation into her death is far from cold.
The popular fitness instructor was killed during the early morning hours of April 18, 2016 as she was getting ready to teach a class at a Midlothian church.
Since then, detectives have poured through more than 3,000 leads in the case.
In a statement, Assistant Police Chief Scott Brown said the department has added a retired federal agent to its team of investigators and his primary responsibility is Beaver’s case. He said the department’s Criminal Investigating Division Commander is an experienced homicide detective from a major metroplex agency.
“Midlothian Police investigators are determined to see this case reach closure. Our agency received tips and leads almost daily from various sources. Our investigators follow up on every credible piece of information. Please know that we will continue to thoughtfully protect the release of information about Missy’s murder as long as this case remains open. There has been substantial assumption about this case as it continues to receive nationwide attention. Missy was a beloved mother, wife, daughter and sister. She and her family, as well as the Midlothian community, deserve our best efforts,” said Chief Brown.
Investigators are still interested in finding a vehicle that was captured on video in the parking lot of a nearby business hours before the murder. It appeared to be a 2010-2012 Nissan Altima, 2010-2012 Infinity G37 or similar vehicle. The car drove slowly around the businesses, turned the lights off several times before briefly parking and then driving away.
They’re also continuing to look at surveillance video of the suspect who is seen wearing “police tactical” type clothing. The person appears to be about 5’8″ tall and walks with a gait.
Anyone with information in Beaver’s case can call in tips anonymously via these channels. People who submit information that leads to an arrest and conviction are eligible to receive a cash reward.

We appeal to the community to please contact the Midlothian Police Department, regardless of how insignificant they may think their information may be,” said Chief Brown.
