Early Voting For May 1st Election Begins

NORTH TEXAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Early voting begins Monday for the May 1st elections, where residents can cast their ballots for mayor, city council and school board seats, etc.

There are several key races in North Texas including for the replacement of the late U.S. Representative Ron Wright’s District 6 seat and mayoral races in  Arlington, Fort Worth, Plano, Garland, Grapevine and McKinney.

Early voting ends April 27th.

All residents must be registered to vote and have a valid ID to cast their ballot. You can check the Texas Secretary of State’s “Am I Registered?” page to check your status.

The state accepts a Texas driver’s license, Texas handgun license, Texas ID card, Texas election ID certificate, U.S. passport, U.S. Military ID and U.S. Citizenship ID with a photo as forms of valid identification.

Anyone who wants to vote by mail must request a mail-in-ballot by April 20th for the May election. Mail-in ballots must be received by 7 p.m. May 1st.
