Chris Krok Show: How About An ACTUAL History Lesson, Gwen?

Gwen Berry came in third place in the U.S. Olympic trials in the hammer throw competition, which is good enough to qualify for a spot on the American team for the upcoming Olympic games. But she upstaged the athletes that finished ahead of her by protesting the National Anthem, despite evidence that she hasn’t always thought the flag was offensive. Well in her explanation as to why she was uncomfortable with the National Anthem, she said she knew her history and that “the dark paragraphs” of the song speak to slaves and doesn’t speak “for black Americans”. Well Gwen, how about going back to a history class and learning the actual history behind the song? Francis Scott Key didn’t write about slaves! Chris has a quick history lesson for the Olympian and much more on NewsTalk 820, WBAP!
