(WBAP/KLIF) — Hurricane Ida is flooding North Texas with storm evacuees. Hundreds of families seeking shelter from the category 4 hurricane have filled North Texas hotels to wait out the storm.

One marine family is staying at the Embassy Suites in North Dallas. Ethan Fought says his family left their home and all their belongings to head out just in time. Ida made landfall in New Orleans, Sunday, and Mollie Fought says her family grabbed the necessities, packed their pets and left home.
According to WFAA, car after car with Louisiana plates arrived North Texas, filling up hotel rooms across the Metroplex.
