Granbury VFW to Honor First Responders on 9/11 Anniversary

(WBAP/KLIF) —  The Granbury VFW is leading an effort to honor first responders on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.  Community groups plan to serve a free meal to every first responder in Hood County on Saturday, September 11th.

Local VFW representative Ricky Johnson says over 200 first responders will dine on brisket and pulled pork.The meal is to both honor the memory of the sacrifice of first responders of 9/11 and hood county employees at the sheriff’s department, Granbury police department, volunteer fire department and emergency management services.

VFW Commander Billy Wells says they’re honored to provide a meal to those who protect Hood County.  According to WFAA, the event will be held on Saturday at the Granbury VFW Building. to donate, go to this GoFundMe site.
