Chris Krok Show: Is Six Weeks Long Enough?

The media was caught off guard by Governor Abbott on Tuesday. When asked about the controversial abortion law that went into effect last week and whether he expected a woman to carry a pregnancy to term after a rape or an incident of incest, Abbott said the law still allows at least six weeks to make a decision without being punished, and also that the state would go after rapists and convict them for their crimes. But critics still say that six weeks isn’t long enough for women to make a decision because they might not even know they’re pregnant. Wouldn’t you think a woman who has been sexually assaulted would know within six weeks that she might need to be checked for pregnancy? She wouldn’t forget an incident like that in that short of a period of time, right? What do you think? Is six weeks long enough to make that decision?
