(WBAP/KLIF) — Three Dallas firefighters injured in an apartment building explosion this week remain hospitalized in critical, but stable condition. Dallas Fire Rescue officials remain optimistic about their prognosis. In addition, the Dallas Office of Emergency management is coordinating with local hotels to extend the stay of residents displaced by the blast through the weekend.

They are also working on long term plans for approximately 28 residents affected by the explosion.
Dallas Animal Services is also relocating pets displaced by the explosion by providing needed crates, food and toys.
28 residents lived in the apartment building and emergency management officials gave the go-ahead for tenants to return to the rubble to retrieve belongings.
