Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Some institutions of higher learning that have contracts with the federal government have mandated COVID vaccinations for all employees, as per a new vaccination strategy laid out by President Joe Biden in early September.
But, according to the Texas Tribune, many public universities in Texas are still reviewing the federal order, while also weighing the statewide ban on vaccine mandates issued by Gov Abbott.
The federal order goes into effect December 8th … hundreds of thousand of dollars in funding is on the line.
Labor expert Michael Leroy calls the issue “unprecedented” He told The Trib that there have conflicts between the state and federal government in the past, but “not at this magnitude with this kind of money on the line.”
