Texas Abortion Law Could Change With High Court Ruling

ASSOCIATED PRESS – (WBAP/KLIF) – The U.S. Supreme Court could rule Monday on the new Texas law that all but bans abortions after what is effectively six weeks of pregnancy.

The Texas law relies on private citizens to sue those who violate it. In discussion of the case Friday, a majority of justices pushed back on the enforcement mechanism that allows the constitutional legality of abortion to be skirted.

Justices Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh seemed concerned the loophole could later limit other constitutional rights, such as freedom of religion, speech, and more.
