North Texas Televangelist Who Espoused Who Discouraged Vaccines Dies After COVID-19 Battle

COLLEYVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) – Daystar Television Network founder and high-profile televangelist Marcus Lamb, who spread anti-vaccine sentiments, has died to complications from COVID-19.

In a message posted to the Daystar website, officials said the 64-year-old died Tuesday morning.

“He leaves behind a legacy of fiercely loving the Lord, all the people of the world, and most of all his family,” said the statement. “The family asks that their privacy be respected as the grieve this difficult loss. Please continue to life them up in prayer”

Lamb received criticism for espousing anti-vaccine messaging on his wide-reaching network as the COVID-19 pandemic tore through the United States.

He hosted several vaccine skeptic on his network and promoted the use of alternative medicines, such as hydroxychloroquine, to treat the virus.

According to the Religion News Service, Lamb’s son Jonathan, called his father’s battle with COVID-19 a “spiritual attack from the enemy.”

“As much as my parents have gone on here to kind of inform everyone about everything going on to the pandemic and some of the ways to treat COVID-there’s no doubt that the enemy is not happy about that. And he’s doing everything he can to take down my Dad,” he said.

Lamb launched Daystar in 1997 and the network operates more than 70 television stations across the country.

It’s also viewed in 74 countries.
