USPS Bolsters DFW Facility to Handle Package Influx

(WBAP/KLIF) — The United States Postal Service in North Texas is bolstering operations after last year’s shipping delays. Post office officials expect the new equipment and personnel to handle the influx of packages this holiday season.

The postal service has hired 600 season workers in the DFW area and added 112 new sorting machines to handle the holiday rush. USPC communications specialist Albert Ruiz says the 2020 pandemic shipping season was something unexpected. Post office officials expect the new equipment and personnel to handle the influx of packages this holiday season.

In order for packages to be delivered on time, there are some dates to keep in mind. WFAA says retail ground service must be mailed by December 15, greeting cards and First-class packages by December 17, Priority Mail by December 18, and Express Mail by December 23.
