COVID-19: Threat Level Up in Tarrant County, Lowered in Dallas County

Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The Tarrant County Public Health Director on Tuesday reported an increase in COVID-19 cases.

Vinny Taneja reported “110 cases per 100,000 population or “400-500 cases every day.” The county’s community spread went back to ‘High‘ this week after being lowered to ‘Substantial‘ last month.

TCPH on Tuesday, reported five COVID-19 deaths. All had underlying health conditions.

Tarrant County now has 4,960 confirmed deaths from the COVID-19 virus and 364,828 people have recovered.

Taneja also talked about the new Omicron COVID variant, and outlined the difference between Omicron and the Delta variant.

Meantime, Dallas County Public Health on Tuesday lowered its COVID threat level from red or orange, or from “High risk of Transmission” to “Extreme Caution.”

The county also reported a three-day total of 896 new cases and 17 deaths.
