Farmers Branch Police Searching for Two Men Who Posed As Officers, Pulled Over Driver

FARMERS BRANCH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Farmers Branch Police Department are searching for two men who posed as officers and conducted a traffic stop over the weekend.

The driver told investigators they were pulled over on Saturday around 10 p.m. on Webb Chapel Road near Emeline Street by someone driving an unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe with flashing sirens.

The fake cop was wearing a blue jumpsuit and identified himself as Officer T. Martinez. The man asked the driver for identification and insurance information.

A second person, also dressed in a blue jumpsuit, pulled up in another unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe.

The two men eventually let the driver go unharmed.

Farmers Branch Police said the pair are not members of their department and the vehicles are not department issued.

The department does not conduct traffic stops using unmarked vehicles and its officers are outfitted in identifiable police uniforms.

If you are ever unsure about the person who is pulling you over, call 911 to confirm it is law enforcement.

Anyone who may have had a similar experience with the two men is asked to contact Farmers Branch Police at 972-919-1406 or email [email protected].
