Dallas Police Seeking Animal Cruelty Suspect Who Shot Dog in Backyard

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas Police are searching for the person who shot a dog in the backyard of an east Oak Cliff home last month.

The white and blue Pittbull-type dog was found at a home off 4700 Cranfill Drive on December 7, 2021.

The dog survived the shooting and “is thriving”.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked call Detective C. Blanchard #7999 with the Dallas Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Unit at 214-670-7694 or email [email protected].

Tipsters are asked to use the case reference number 221015-2021.

Informers can also call DPD Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477).

Animal Cruelty charges are a felony in Texas, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Some could face community service and/or probation depending on whether its a civil or criminal case. Those under 18 who are convicted of animal cruelty must undergo counseling.
