Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas is among final contenders for a new self-driving vehicle facility from one of the Big 3 auto makers.
Dallas City Council is set to give a thumbs-up Wednesday to an over 3-million dollar incentive package for Ford and tech company Argo AI to bring their new 160-million dollar facility to the Big-D near Love Field.
The package calls for at least half of the expected 250 full-time jobs that will be created to go to residents of Dallas.
Two cities in California are also the finalists according to the Dallas Morning News.
In a statement, a Ford spokesperson “the company is focused on building a profitable self-driving vehicle business,” highlighting pilot ride-hailing and goods delivery in Austin and other cities.
