Russia Conducts Missile Tests as World Leaders Meet in Europe

ASSOCIATED PRESS – Russia is reported to be conducting missile tests as an estimated 190-thousand Russian troops continue to embrace the borders of Ukraine. World leaders are meeting in Germany to discuss the escalating situation and likelihood of war, or signs Russia is poised to invade Ukraine. To Ukrainian military officials came under a shelling attack during a tour of the front of the separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Saturday, separatist leaders in eastern Ukraine ordered a full military mobilization, amid fears in the West Russia may use the strife as a pretext for an invasion. Russia Saturday reported at least two shells fired from a government-held part of eastern Ukraine landed across the border. Ukraine’s leader dismissed that claim as a “fake statement”.

In Munich, U S Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has assured the three Baltic nations they will not be on their own if faced with Russian security threats, but stopped short of promising a permanent deployment of American troops in the republicans of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Russia is reported to have fired at least seven missiles Saturday, including an intercontinental ballistic missile from a mobile launcher, and more misisles from a Russian warship at sea as well as at least one missile fired from a MIG-31.

Western leaders are meeting at the Munich Security Conference, where Ukrainian President Zelensky is speaking.
