Fallen Peace Officers Honored At Texas Capitol

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Hundreds of Texas law enforcement officers gathered at the state capitol in Austin Sunday for a memorial ceremony and candlelight vigil honoring the 62 peace officers who died in the line of duty last year. Governor Greg Abbott presented medals of honor to each of their families saying, “these courageous men and women gave their lives for a reason, and that’s so all of us could be safe.” Names of the honored officers will join the 2,000 others engraved on the Peace Officers Memorial on the capitol grounds.
