People are now starting to complain that U.S. Orchestras are not diverse enough. That it is full of mostly White people. A common problem with this mentality is that it seems to think that diversity is equivalent to talent or job qualification. However, hiring someone just based on the color of the skin as opposed to talent is, oh I don’t know, RACIST! As long as someone is good at what they do, then the color of their skin shouldn’t matter!
