One Of The Most Wanted Criminals In Texas Has Been Killed.

San Antonio (WBAP/KLIF) – Gonzalo Lopez escaped from a prison bus in south Texas on May 12. He has been the focus of a widespread manhunt for the last three weeks, but no confirmed sighting of him had been made until Thursday.
That’s when relatives of a Houston family who have a weekend getaway home near Centerville in the immediate vicinity of the bus escape called law enforcement in that area because they hadn’t heard from their relatives. Officers who went to their home about 6:00 o’clock Thursday evening found all five of them, two adults and three children, murdered inside the house. Their 20 year old farm truck was missing.
That truck was spotted a couple of hours later a little south of San Antonio, and police gave chase. Police eventually stopped the truck by throwing spike strips under its tires. Lopez reportedly jumped out and ran. He was shot and killed.
The authorities are still trying to put it all together, and there hasn’t been much official information. The house where the murdered family was found had been searched several times over the last three weeks without finding anything. and authorities do not believe the murdered family knew Lopez, or had ever had any contact with him. They say they are confident Lopez killed them, but to this point they haven’t said why they’re confident.
