Cyber Experts Observed Huge Uptick in Data Breaches Amid Rise in Remote Working [LISTEN]

Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Millions of Texans have fallen victim to cyber attacks in recent months.

Cybersecurity firm Checkpoint Security Solutions says breaches of medical facility records have compromised millions of Texans. Alarmingly the COVID shutdowns triggered A decisive uptick in cyber-attacks.

Dental and orthodontic care provider JDC Healthcare Management (JDC) which operates more than 70 Jefferson dental & orthodontics clinics, notified the Texas Attorney General’s Office that the personal information was likely stolen during the cyberattack. earlier this year of the attack that happened in August 2021.

Breaches of medical facility records are increasingly in demand on the dark web.

Alarmingly the COVID shutdowns triggered a decisive uptick in cyber-attacks. So says Pete Nicoletti, Field Chief Information Security Officer with Check Point.

Nicoletti says many companies have doubled back to better secure their networks. He advised consumers to always keep a watchful eye on account records and take immediate action if some looks suspicious.

Additionally, Baptist Medical Center and Resolute Health Hospital in the Texas were also compromised in the past two months. Hackers are increasingly going after medical records.
