Uvalde CISD Sets Date to Consider Job Status of Embattled Police Chief

UVALDE (WBAP/KLIF) – The Uvalde CISD Board of Trustees will meet August 24 to consider the firing of district Police Chief Pete Arredondo.

State leaders have blamed Arredondo for the failed police response to the elementary school massacre last May.

According to the Uvalde CISD, there will be a board meeting regarding “the termination of the Uvalde CISD Chief of Police” on Wednesday, August 24 at 5:30 pm. The meeting will occur in the Benson Board Room, 601 Dean Street, Uvalde, Texas 78801. The meeting will be open to the public.

The hearing has been rescheduled twice because of conflicts. Arredondo is currently on leave and the Superintendent has recommended he be fired.
