TARRANT COUNTY – (WBAP/KLIF)- Investigators with the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives are hunting a group of serial burglars they suspect of stealing ammunition and weapons from Tarrant County area gun stores in the past several weeks.
At least seven weapons stores have been attempted hits, but two have netted eleven stolen weapons and police say the thieves returned to the scene of one of the crimes the very next day to purloin ammunition they failed to steal the first time.
Federal officials are warning North Texas gun shop owners a determined group is targeting what they sell. Elliot White Gun Company on Rufe Snow Road and Shoot Smart on the North Freeway Service Road, among victim businesses.
