(WBAP/KLIF) — Police say a 2-year-old boy was found dead inside his family’s SUV after the vehicle was stolen from a Houston gas station.
Houston Police Chief Larry Satterwhite said the vehicle was stolen after the father was fatally shot by the suspect, who drove off in the vehicle with the toddler inside. The toddler’s cause of death has not been determined, but authorities believe the child might have died from heat exhaustion.
Satterwhite said authorities believe the suspect abandoned the SUV with the child locked inside as the temperature reached 95 degrees. a 38-year-old man was arrested, Wednesday, and faces charges of murder and tampering with evidence.
