FORT WORTH – (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth Police say one of their officers fired his weapon at a man in Fort Worth late Saturday night, killing him at the scene, after police indicate his mother called complaining he was damaging her house with a hammer.
No identities are released yet, but an investigation is reported to be underway. The shooting was reported in the 4000 block of Wiman Drive, just east of 287 in the Edgewood neighborhood, before midnight Saturday evening.
Police say the man had a weapon and went inside that home when they arrived, allowing his mother to leave the home, before they say he appeared again and pointed his weapon at an officer, who returned fire. The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
