(WBAP/KLIF) — Fort Worth takes the world’s center stage this week. Fans from all over the world will watch television broadcasts from Dickies Arena in Forth Worth during the 2022 Women’s Tennis Association Finals.
Executive Director Jason Sands of the Fort Worth Sports Commission says $5-million in prize money is up for grabs as Dickies Arena is bringing the world’s best singles and doubles players to North Texas for the season ending championship. The event will showcase the world’s top players, including Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula.
The United States hasn’t hosted the event since 2005, while it’s never been staged in the Lone Star State. Sands is excited about the international exposure the event brings, as the WTA Finals will be broadcast to 162 countries around the world. Tournament play runs Monday, October 31st, through Monday, November 7th.

| Dickies Arena will be the site of the WTA Finals (Women’s Tennis Association), bringing the eight best singles players and doubles teams from the 2022 WTA season to Fort Worth for the season-ending championship. The fields for the event were finalized this past weekend during the regular season finale in Guadalajara. The tournament will run from Monday, October 31st through November 7, 2022.The WTA Finals singles field includes (WTA world ranking in parentheses):
