Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – An officer involved shooting in South Dallas Sunday left a man who allegedly fired at officers critically wounded. The man was hospitalized and later died at a hospital.

Dallas police responded to Metropolitan Avenue just south of Fair Park around 6:15pm where they say an argument had broken out in a crowd of people and one of the suspects had a gun.

Police spokesperson Kristin Lowman said officers started walking toward the suspect when the suspect produced a gun and started charging the officers, discharging his weapon once.

Police opened fire striking the suspect. Another person was shot and is in stable condition.

Lowman says that police bodycam footage will be released on Wednesday.

None of the officers were hurt.
