Roofing Company’s Roof Blown Off by Twister

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Grapevine tornado seemed to skip across Tarrant county as it began in North Richland Hills and ended in Grapevine, leaving a swath of homes and businesses with storm damage.

The twister appears to have hit Ahlers Roofing & Construction in North Richland Hills, as co-owner Daniel Ahlers says it tore about a third of the roof off, while also knocking a power pole into the building, and damaged two roofing truck, flipping one on its side.

The tornado seemed to leave the ground, traveled in a northeastern path before it resurfaced to hit other structures, including Sam’s Club, Grapevine Mills Mall, and Grapevine Middle School.

The total damage to Ahlers Roofing alone could be as high as $30,000 to $50-thousand.
