Two Choctaw County Jail Escapees Arrested in Frisco Purse Snatchings Case

The duo is connected to multiple alleged crimes in several states states.

Frisco, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Frisco police arrested two people connection with two purse snatching incidents outside two stores late last year.

31-year old Tyler Payne and 41-Thomas Cofer are charged with theft and aggravated robbery.

Payne was the suspect Monday after a wild police chase in Dallas. he had also carjacked a woman at gunpoint in Frisco the same day. Cofer was in already in a Mississippi jail and is awaiting extradition to Texas.

The two men are fugitives from Choctaw County where authorities say they escaped from the county jail in November through the roof. The pair was captured and arrested in Mississippi on November 22nd. In Oklahoma. Payne was jailed for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, car jacking, and eluding arrest. Cofer was jailed jail for burglary.

The Frisco purse snatching incidents happened within minutes of each other in broad daylight on November 14th outside a Target and HEB.
