Missing Leopard Shuts Down Dallas Zoo, Crews and Dallas PD Searching for the Animal

UPDATE: 11:10 pm Dallas Zoo officials reported finding the missing leopard not far from her enclosure before 5 pm Friday. She was reported returned to her enclosure with her sister shortly after. Dallas Police have launched a criminal investigation, quoted as saying officials discovered an intentionally cut fence around the cat’s enclosure.

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Dallas Zoo is closed temporarily after a clouded leopard vanished from its habitat.

The Friday morning disappearance prompted zoo officials to issue a “code blue” – that’s a non-dangerous animal that is out of its habitat.

According to a Facebook post, the zoo said it believes due to the nature of the leopard, the animal is still on the grounds and hiding.

Dallas Police are helping the zoo track down the animal.

The Zoo said its focus is on finding the leopard and it will provide updates to the public on its social media pages.
