Body Found in Grand Prairie Amid Search for Missing Collin County Woman

Collin County (WBAP/KLIF) – A man accused of kidnapping Kayla Kelley of Collin County has now been charged with arson.

Ocastor Ferguson is a person of interest in the case. It’s believed he and Kelley were involved in a relationship and she recently found out he was married.

The new charge comes after a woman’s body was found last night near Ferguson’s home in Grand Prairie.

Kelly was reported missing last Wednesday. Her torched car was found in Frisco.

GRAND PRAIRIE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Collin County Sheriff’s Office said it found a body in a Grand Prairie neighborhood Wednesday night.

The development comes amid the ongoing search for 33-year-old Kayla Kelley of McKinney, who vanished January 11.

Investigators said the female body was found in a wooded area near Prairie Oak Boulevard and Oak Hollow Drive.

Authorities said that’s near the home of Ocaster Ferguson, who is failed on a kidnapping charge and is a person of interest in Kelley’s disappearance.

He was booked into the Collin County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Paul Lake with ‘Search One’ said his team has been a part of the effort to find Kelley.

“Our organization was contacted first on Friday of last week by Collin County Sheriff’s Office and responded to a location and assisted in the search and then we were contacted again by Texas Rangers on Monday of this week for a separate location,” he said.

Lake said his team worked with The Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Prairie police and the Texas Rangers to try and find Kelley.

“The search consisted of multiple dog teams from our organization and multiple people from local investigating agencies and last multiple hours,” he said.

According to an affidavit, Kelley had been in a romantic relationship with Ferguson and recently found out he was married. Ferguson had been going by a different name, Kevin Brown.

It also states that text messages between Kelley and Ferguson revealed that Kelley said she would tell his wife about their affair if he did not respond.

Kelley’s car had been found burned beyond recognition in a remote area of Frisco on January 12, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said Ferguson told them he did not know what happened to Kelley, but did acknowledge that the two met online and started dating in 2022.

The body has not been confirmed as Kelley’s. The Medical Examiner’s Office is reviewing the case.
