(WBAP-KLIF) – Police in El Paso say one person is dead and three others were taken to the hospital after an active shooter situation Wednesday in the food court at the Cielo Vista Mall.
The University Medical Center in El Paso issued a statement saying two male gunshot victims were being treated there and were in critical condition.
The condition of the third victim was not immediately known.
Two people have been taken into custody, according to interim El Paso Police Chief Peter Pacillas. A weapon has been recovered. No motive is known as of yet.
The mall is near the Walmart where a gunman killed 23 people in 2019.
