
Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – On the 1-year anniversary of Russian’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian in North Texas are remembering the somber day with several events across the metroplex this weekend.
The Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas will have a auto rally rolling off from Richardson this afternoon. The group will gather in the parking lot of 1144 N Plano Rd, Richardson, TX 75081. From there, at 4 pm they will start driving down highway 75, through downtown Dallas and onto I-35 and 183 into Grapevine, and back to Richardson by I-635. The organization is inviting anyone to participate with flags, banners, and Ukrainian symbols, and to write anti-war slogans on the windows, bring your posters.
Rules:
– Per the Police, we are not allowed to be stopped on roadsides or to block the roads for others;
– The banners’ sizes have to not exceed the size of a car by 6 inches on the sides and 8 inches on the front and back;
– When driving, turn the emergency blinker on;
– Maintain the same speed, safe distance and minimize traffic disruptions.

Afterwards, everyone is invited for a community gathering with a Ukrainian dinner at Gourmet Room, 1144 N Plano Rd #115, Richardson, TX 75081. Also, the Ukrainian Association of Texas will hold a prayer vigil and rally at St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church in The Colony on Saturday beginning at 3pm. Visit: www.uast.org
