DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Director of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms is stressing the importance of relationships between Federal and local authorities when it comes to reducing an increasing amount of gun violence in the United States.
Director Steve Dettelbach was appointed by the President and sworn in as the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on July 13, 2022. He is responsible for leading an agency of men and women charged with protecting the public by enforcing laws and regulations related to firearms, explosives, arson, and alcohol and tobacco trafficking. Director Dettelbach is the first confirmed director in over seven years, and only the second director to win Senate approval since confirmation was required in 2006.
Dettelbach recently spoke with the North Texas Crime Commission about gun violence, both nationally and locally. He spoke exclusively with WBAP/KLIF’s Clayton Neville about the collaboration and shared details about battling hate crimes.
