FT. WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – One of the conjoined twins who was separated from her sister in an 11 hour operation at Cook Children’s Hospital in January has been released from the hospital.

Jamie Lynn Finley is at home while her sister Amie Lynn remains in the hospital for a few more weeks. The girls were conjoined at the chest and shared a liver. The hospital says Amie had a recent surgery that improved her chest incision and created more space for her heart, diaphragm and lungs.

Father, James Finley said “we’ll have some good bonding time, but at the same time, Amie is still up there so it’s kind of a double-edged sword. We’re happy Jamie is coming home, but they’re not going to be together for a bit.”

This was the first surgery of its kind at the hospital. 25 medical professionals including 6 surgeons participated.
