SpaceX Preparing To Launch Its Starship

Brownsville (WBAP/KLIF) – If all goes as planned, a very large rocket could blast off from south Texas Monday morning. SpaceX says it’s ready to take the next step in testing the re-useable rocket system that it intends to use to carry crews and cargo into orbit and back. The rocket that SpaceX calls Starship is mounted atop the company’s own Super Heavy Rocket Booster, tentatively scheduled for an unmanned blast-off from SpaceX’s south Texas launch site at 7:00 AM Monday. The idea is to take it into orbit, fly it once around the world, then bring it down. This time Starship won’t return to its launch pad as other SpaceX test flights have. This time they want to test how well it handles in the atmosphere as it returns from space, so they’re going to bring it down in the ocean.
