Allen Outlet Mall Killings Send Shockwaves Across DFW

ALLEN (WBAP/KLIF) – Reaction is pouring in following Saturday’s mass shooting in Collin County.

According to Allen Police, a shooter killed 8 people, and injured at least 7 others, after opening firing at the outdoor mall Saturday afternoon while thousands of shoppers browsed the outlet stores.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement on the shooting at Allen Premium Outlets.

“Our hearts are with the people of Allen, Texas tonight during this unspeakable tragedy,” said Governor Abbott. “I have been in contact with Mayor Fulk and DPS Director McCraw as well as other state and local leaders and offered the full support of the State of Texas to local officials to ensure all needed assistance and resources are swiftly deployed, including DPS officers, Texas Rangers, and investigative resources.”

Other Communities are rallying behind Allen.

Local Police departments took to social media.

Lawmakers commented on the shooting, as well.

A vigil is set for Sunday at 5 p.m. at Cotton Creek.
