Free Counseling Available in Collin County for Those Impacted by Allen Mass Shooting

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – North Texans who are struggling mentally or emotionally with the deadly mass shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets Mall are being offered free counseling.

Eight people were killed and seven others injured when a gunman opened fire Saturday afternoon. He was shot and killed by an Allen police officer who was responding to another call.

Now victims’ families and survivors are left with grief and/or trauma.

The team at Life Path Systems, the Collin County Mental Health Authority, will provide residents in need with sessions with licensed clinicians.

In a Facebook post, the organization expressed condolences to the community. “The team is deeply saddened about the tragic event that took place at Allen Premium Outlets in Allen,Tx.”

“LifePath Systems will be working with local law enforcement, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Health and Human Services, to provide free emotional support, trauma response, and the services of licensed clinicians to all those impacted by the tragedy. We grieve with the families affected by this senseless act of violence and the entire Allen community.”

In addition to scheduled sessions, the organization says services for those experiencing a health crisis are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
