Allen Shooter Armed with 8 Guns at Outlet Mall

ALLEN (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Department of Public Safety gave an update on Tuesday regarding its investigation into the mass shooting at Allen Premium Outlets that left 8 people and a gunman dead.

DPS Regional Director Hank Sibley said the 33-year-old gunman from Dallas target the outlet mall, but is not believed to have targeted specific people.

“We obtained 8 weapons,” Sibley said. Five in the suspect’s vehicle and four on his person.”

DPS confirmed Mauricio Garcia has neo-nazi affiliation and are combing through evidence and social media to learn more about a motive.

Sibley said Garcia was dismissed from the Army in 2008 because he “wasn’t a fit for the Army.” Investigators are also looking into Garcia’s mental history. He had no criminal background.

DPS believes the outlet mall was targeted because it was crowded, but doesn’t think specific victims were targeted.
