
FORT WORTH – (WBAP/KLIF) – The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat advisory for Monday and Tuesday in North Texas, with heat indices expected to reach as high as 115F, or about 46C both days. The heat index is the “feels like” temperature as excessive humidity continues in the North Texas region and throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.
Monday’s mercury reading high is expected to reach near 99F; with heat index or “feels like” values closer to 109F. Tuesday, even hotter with a mercury reading expected at 101F; and that heat index up to 115F.
Health and emergency workers urge you to stay hydrated, seek shade when or if outdoors, wear thin, flowing fabrics in clothing, and check back seats before you leave your vehicle for children and pets. Consider bringing outdoor pets in during this dangerous heat wave.
