A North Texas man is now behind bars after being convicted for sexually abusing a child.
On Monday, a jury found 38 year old Benny James Phennel of Princeton, TX guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
According to the Collin County District Attorney’s office, Phennel sexually abused the child for a period of two years, starting when the victim was 10 years old.
Phennel has been sentenced to 45 years in prison without the possibility of parole. Under Texas law those found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child are not eligible for parole.
