DESOTO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Desoto police are asking for help in catching the driver who fatally hit a man who was walking along I-35 near Wintergreen Road this week.
A passerby called 911 after seeing a body laying on the ground around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim may have been trying to cross the highway or was walking southbound when he was hit.
Detectives believe the suspect was driving a black 2007 to 2009 Lexus ES350 sedan.
After the fatal hit, the driver took off southbound without stopping to render aid. The victim has not yet been identified.
Police said the car may have damage to the passenger side bumper/headlight, hood and possibly the windshield. They believe the incident happened between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
