HOUSTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Republican National Convention will return to Texas in four years.

GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel announced Friday that the 2028 Republican National Convention will be in Houston, Texas.

This is the second time Houston will serve as host to the once-in-four-years event. Houston beat out finalists Miami and Nashville for the honor.

The 2024 Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which was the site of the first republican presidential debate this week.

Houston last hosted the Republican National Convention in 1992 when then-President George H. W. Bush was nominated for re-election that he eventually lost to democratic challenger Bill Clinton.
