Keller ISD Could Block Robin Hood Funding Over Alleged State Transparency Issues [WATCH]

Keller, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Keller Independent School District (KISD) passed a resolution on Monday (September 11, 2023) that could result in the district withholding recapture funds to the state.

Recapture or ‘Robinhood’ funds are a portion of property tax revenues from more affluent school districts that are redistributed by the state to poor districts.

KISD board members have been seeking clarity on how the monies are used.

Some district parent spoke during public comment in opposition to the resolution saying that it would lead to lawsuits against district, ultimately costingn taxpayers.

Without some answers, recapture funds could be withheld for the next school year.
