FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Fort Worth police released details about a deadly crash along I-35W near 28th Street Thursday morning.
Investigators said a driver ran out of gas and was waiting for a friend to bring him some while he waited on the median shoulder.
When the friend arrived with the gas both individual were outside of their vehicles.
A car was behind a semi when that driver attempted to avoid hitting the semi from behind he pulled into the median shoulder hitting both pedestrians.
The driver was declared dead at the scene and his friend is in the hospital in critical condition.
The victims’ names have not been released.
The crash had traffic backed up into the downtown area of Fort Worth for awhile.
