(WBAP/KLIF) — Texas and six other states will witness an annual solar eclipse this Saturday. The Ring of Fire eclipse will occur between 11:13 a.m. and 12:13 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th, as the DFW area will experience an 80% partial eclipse.

In conjunction with the eclipse, the Perot Museum‘s Linda Silver says they’re holding a watch party between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The event will feature the museum giving out 30,000 special made sunglasses to safely view the partial eclipse, as well live music, food trucks, and activities.
According to Silver, the Metroplex will experience two eclipses over a six-month period, as a total eclipse in DFW will occur in April of next year. In addition to the Perot Museum, all seven Dallas College locations are open to public viewing of the eclipse on Saturday and in April of 2024. The college will have eclipse viewers and faculty available on each campus.
