Off-duty Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy Shot; Expected to Recover

Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy Brent Brown

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy who was shot while working off-duty Monday afternoon has been identified as 35-year-old Brett Brown.

Brown was shot twice, once in the upper chest and once in the stomach.

Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn gave an update on Brown’s condition Monday night saying that Brown will be okay.

Brown was rushed to JPS after the shooting and underwent surgery.

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – A Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot Monday afternoon while working off-duty.

There are multiple reports Monday that it happened to an off-duty deputy working security at a credit union along Brentwood Stair Road.

There is no word on the condition of the deputy.

Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare said on the social media platform X that the deputy was shot twice and is in surgery.
