WalletHub Addresses Cost of Smoking Per Year

Texas smokers may spend up $72,000 per year on cigarettes!

Wallet Hub Analyst, Cassie Happe, says that while inflation might have an influence on that number, people may want to consider quitting.

“Texas came in twenty seventh overall in the study,” she said. “Which is about middle of the pack as far as the costs go.”

The most expensive state to be a smoker in is New York City, who came in at $108,097 per year.
