Atmos Energy is donating $2 million to help its customers stay warm this winter.
“We’re distributing these funds to various energy assistant agencies and non profit organizations,” Communications Manager, Kristin Goodspeed, said. “We’re hoping to provide relief for Atmos Energy customers who just need help paying their natural gas bills, any past due debt, deposit or service charges.”
One of the organizations that will receive the money is The Senior Source.
Goodspeed says the choice to make these donations came before the explosion at the Sandman Hotel in Fort Worth just two weeks ago. The explosion injured twenty-one people.
She says people can try and receive these donations by doing the following:
“We’ll host these events called Blitzes which are local, and it’s more of a first come, first serve,” Goodspeed said. “It’s for any eligible customers.”
